Fun fact: According to , tortilla chips were created by Rebecca Webb Carranza. She decided that the misshapen tortillas that were rejected from the automated tortilla manufacturing machine could be utilized instead of wasted. Therefore, she cut them into triangle shapes and fried them, creating the ever-famous tortilla chip.
